Aloft Dubai South, the Aloft brand’s fourth property to open in Dubai this year, has swung open its doors near the city’s Al Maktoum International Airport, and site of the international innovation gathering, Expo 2020.
Developed by Radar Holdings, it is the first hotel to open in Dubai South, a developing business and trade district.
“We are excited to make our entry into the Dubai South district with the opening of a new Aloft hotel,” said Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East and Africa for Marriott International. “With the ongoing expansion of the Al Maktoum International Airport and the rapidly developing site of Expo 2020, which will see 25 million visitors, Dubai South is the ideal location for a brand like Aloft, which is designed for the hyper-connected, ‘always on’ global traveler.”
The hotel will include 145 loft-inspired guest rooms and four meeting rooms equipped with state-of-the-art A/V equipment and fast and free WiFi. Other features include Nook, an all-day casual dining outlet serving international cuisine; the Aloft brand’s W XYZ Bar and Re:mix Lounge; and Re:fuel by Aloft, the brand’s 24/7 grab-and-go venue. The property will also offer the Live At Aloft Hotels programming that showcases live acoustic performances by up-and-coming artists. Other features at Aloft Dubai South include a 24-hour Re:charge fitness center and an outdoor Splash pool.
Already home to the world’s largest logistics and aviation companies, the Dubai South area continues to develop in preparation of Expo2020, the first World Expo ever hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region which takes place Oct. 20, 2020 through April 10, 2021. More than 25 million are expected to visit Expo 2020 that will feature 200 participants, including 180 countries.
